TIACA runs an annual survey assessing industry action across a number of sustainability criteria, including a multitube of sustainability practices aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.   With regards to workforce, we address training, attraction, retention and workplace environment.

Individual companies can then apply for a personalized TIACA BlueSky assessment, based on a desktop assessment approach.

Purpose of the program / objectives

Organizations initially perform a self assessment in order to determine their personal readiness for the full assessment activity.

The assessment is evidenced based and each organization receives a personalized Dashboard together with a detailed report highlighting areas or excellence and areas which require further attention.

The assessment addresses 8 core areas;

The Dashboard is in the form of a spider gram chart and numeric scaled score.

The assessment is a journey-based program rather than a pass / fail result.

Intended audience

Every organization associated with air transport or logistics.

Description / how it was implemented

An industry RoadMap was developed which highlighted key actions needed to be performed by the industry.

This RoadMap was then assessed from a weighted criteria perspective to determine critical vs important activities.

A detailed scoring methodology was developed.

Two Dashboards were developed;

One detailed evidenced based result as determined by an independent assessor and the second details potential results considering where evidence was missing.

Impacts / Outcomes

Each participant has been able to target specific actions to improve their scoring resulting in fundamental improvements in workplace culture and staff attraction and retention.

Lessons learned

We need to communicate the program benefits to a wider audience.  And to promote organizations which have successfully gone through the assessment.
